Net up 32% on flat OP thanks to higher OI & lower tax incidence


'Consolidated net sales (including other operating income) of Shanthi Gears for the quarter ended Mar 2024 has increased 24.51% to Rs 153.64 crore.  Operating profit margin has declined from 21.60% to 17.32%, leading to 0.15% decline in operating profit to Rs 26.61 crore.  Raw material cost as a % of total sales (net of stock adjustments) increased from 46.98% to 48.18%.   Employee cost decreased from 14.56% to 11.40%.   Other expenses rose from 16.52% to 23.14%.   

Other income up 242.45% to Rs 9.52 crore.  PBIDT rose 22.77% to Rs 36.13 crore.  Provision for interest remained nil.  Loan funds remained nil.  PBDT rose 22.77% to Rs 36.13 crore.  Provision for depreciation rose 46.53% to Rs 4.22 crore.  Profit before tax grew 20.19% to Rs 31.91 crore.  Provision for tax was expense of Rs 6.23 crore, compared to Rs 7.08 crore.  Effective tax rate was 19.52% compared to...
