Provisions continues to rise, asset quality stabilizing


'SBI Cards and Payment Services has posted 30% decline in net profit at Rs 383.23 crore in the quarter ended December 2024 (Q3FY2025).

The income from operations was flat yoy at Rs 4618.69 crore for Q3FY2025, while other income of the company jumped 23% to Rs 147.87 crore. The total income increased 1% to Rs 4766.56 crore for Q3FY2025.

Interest expenses increased 19% to Rs 828.64 crore. Operating expenses declined 13% to Rs 2058.39 crore, allowing the operating profits to improve 12% at Rs 1879.53 crore. The cost-to-income ratio improved to 52.3% in Q3FY2025 from 58.7% in Q3FY2024.

Depreciation declined -4% to Rs 48.76 crore, while provisions jumped 49% to Rs 1313.14 crore. Profit before tax dipped 30% yoy basis at Rs 517.63 crore. Effective tax rate increased to 26.0% in Q3FY2025 from 25.6% in Q3FY2024. Net Profit of the company declined 30% to Rs 383.23 crore for Q3FY2025.
