Profit declines on high provisions, asset quality remains healthy


'State Bank of India has reported 10% decline in net profit at Rs 18642.59 crore for the quarter ended March 2025 (Q4FY2025). The bank has posted 3% growth in net interest income (NII), while the core fee income of the bank improved 13% in Q4FY2025. The Net Interest Margin (NIM) of the bank declined to 3.00% in Q4FY2025 compared to 3.28% in the corresponding quarter of previous year.

On business front, the bank as has posted 11% growth in business with 12% surge in loan book. The asset quality of the bank has continued to improve in Q4FY2025. Bank has raised the credit to deposit ratio to 78.4% at end March 2025 from 76.6% at end March 2024. CASA ratio of the bank has declined slightly to 38.4% at end March 2025 from 39.5% at end March 2024.

Asset quality improves: The bank has improved asset quality in Q4FY2025.
