Lower profits


'Net sales (including other operating income) of PCBL has increased 21.32% to Rs 2010 crore.  Sales of Carbon Black segment has gone up 2.02% to Rs 1,647.52 crore (accounting for 80.80% of total sales).  Sales of Power segment has gone down 1.10% to Rs 64.87 crore (accounting for 3.18% of total sales).  Inter-segment sales rose Rs 23.79 crore to Rs 28.94 crore. 

Profit before interest, tax and other unallocable items (PBIT) has jumped 1.90% to Rs 299.47 crore.  PBIT of Carbon Black segment fell 0.53% to Rs 251.06 crore (accounting for 83.83% of total PBIT).  PBIT of Power segment fell 9.31% to Rs 37.62 crore (accounting for 12.56% of total PBIT).
