PCBL

Higher interest cost and depreciation impacted performance


'Net sales (including other operating income) of PCBL has increased 45.50% to Rs 2163.2 crore on the back of better realization, higher sales volume in Carbon Black segment (Rubber & Specialty Blacks) and revenue from recently acquired Aquapharm Chemicals. Sales volume (Carbon black) increased by 14% YoY to 1,48,693 tonne in Q2FY25 from 1,30,111 tonne in Q2FY24 supported by increased specialty volumes and higher utilization in PCBL (TN) plant. Power Generation increased by 25% from 167 MU in Q2FY24 to 209 MU during the quarter with external sales volume of 126 MU as against 103 MU in Q2 FY24. PCBL’s average realization stood at 3.56/kwh.

Sales of Carbon Black segment has gone up 21.53% to Rs 1,753.09 crore (accounting for 79.88% of total sales).  Sales of Power segment has gone up 26.35% to Rs 80.70 crore (accounting for 3.68% of total sales).  Inter-segment sales rose Rs 19.73 crore to Rs 31.46 crore.
