Hindustan Petroleum Corporation

Suppressed marketing margins

'Consolidated net sales (including other operating income) of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation has increased 1.61% to Rs 113888.28 crore.  Sales of Downstream Petroleum segment has gone up 1.53% to Rs 1,20,844.14 crore (accounting for 99.89% of total sales).  Sales of Others segment fell 12.94% to Rs 136.15 crore (accounting for 0.11% of total sales).  Inter-segment sales rose Rs 20.81 crore to Rs 36.99 crore. 

Profit before interest, tax and other unallocable items (PBIT) has slumped 89.97% to Rs 864.75 crore.  PBIT of Downstream Petroleum segment fell 89.48% to Rs 907.86 crore (accounting for 104.99% of total PBIT).  PBIT of Others segment fell 432.88% to Rs -43.11 crore (accounting for -4.99% of total PBIT). 

PBIT margin of Downstream Petroleum segment fell from 7.25% to 0...
