Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers

Net up 48% on higher OPM, higher OI and lower tax


'Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE), a PSU under the ministry of defence, has registered a fall of 7% in sales to Rs 456.69 crore. With operating profit margin stand higher by 120 bps to 7.6%, the operating profit was up by 11% to Rs 34.51 crore. Gained by 6% increase in other income to Rs52.79 crore, the PBIDT was up by 8% to Rs 87.30 crore. After accounting for interest income of Rs 0.34 crore against an interest cost of Rs 1.38 crore in the corresponding previous period the PBDT was up by 10% to Rs 87.64 crore. After accounting for higher depreciation, the growth at PBT was restricted at 9% to Rs 79.75 crore. With EO Expense for the period being Rs 10.61 crore compared to marginal 0.02 crore in the corresponding previous period, the PBT after EO was down by 5% to Rs 69.14 crore. With taxation stand lower by 51% to Rs 19.47 crore, the PAT was up by 48% to Rs 49.68 crore.
