Steady growth, credit cost rises


'Axis Bank has reported 4% growth in net profit at Rs 6034.64 crore for the quarter ended June 2024 (Q1FY2025). The bank has posted 12% growth in net interest income (NII), while the core fee income of the bank also improved 16% in Q1FY2025. The Net Interest Margin (NIM) of the bank eased to 4.05% in Q1FY2025 compared to 4.10% in the corresponding quarter of previous year.

On business front, the bank as has posted 14% growth in business with 14% surge in loan book. The asset quality of the bank has witnessed marginal pressure in Q1FY2025. Bank has witnessed rise the credit to deposit ratio to 92.2% at end June 2024 from 91.0% at end June 2023. The CASA ratio of the bank has dipped to 41.8% at end June 2024 from 45.5% at end June 2023.

Asset quality shows pressure: The bank has witnessed moderate increase in NPAs in Q1FY2025.
