'Astral,
pioneer in manufacturing of CPVC pipes & fittings, net sales (including
other operating income) increased 1.96% to Rs 1397 crore as overall demand
scenario in Industry was weak. Sales of
Plumbing segment fell 0.80% to Rs 990.10 crore (accounting for 70.87% of total
sales). Sales of Paints and Adhesives
segment has gone up 9.35% to Rs 406.90 crore (accounting for 29.13% of total
sales).
Profit
before interest, tax and other unallocable items (PBIT) has jumped 1.42% to Rs
164.00 crore.
PBIT of Plumbing segment
rose 9.42% to Rs 140.50 crore (accounting for 85.67% of total PBIT). PBIT of Paints and Adhesives segment fell
29.43% to Rs 23.50 crore (accounting for 14.33% of total PBIT).
