Rail Vikas Nigam

Sales up 17%, net up 33%


'Consolidated net sales (including other operating income) of Rail Vikas Nigam for the quarter ended Mar 2024 has increased 17.38% to Rs 6714.01 crore.  Operating profit margin has jumped from 6.55% to 6.80%, leading to 21.90% rise in operating profit to Rs 456.34 crore.  Employee cost increased from 0.66% to 0.68%.   Other expenses fell from 92.79% to 92.53%.   Other direct service cost fell from 92.08% to 91.79%.   

Other income rose 9.47% to Rs 280.3 crore.  PBIDT rose 16.85% to Rs 736.64 crore.  Provision for interest rose 2.77% to Rs 150.36 crore.   PBDT rose 21.10% to Rs 586.28 crore.  Provision for depreciation fell 24.83% to Rs 4.39 crore.   

Profit before tax grew 21.67% to Rs 581.89 crore.  Share of profit/loss was 141.69% higher at Rs 43.07 crore.  Provision for tax was expense of Rs 146.56 crore, compared to Rs 136.84 crore.  Effective ta...
