Net down 6% on weak operating show


'Consolidated net sales (including other operating income) of Rail Vikas Nigam for the quarter ended Dec 2023 has declined 6.44% to Rs 4689.33 crore.  Operating profit margin has declined from 5.50% to 5.31%, leading to 9.64% decline in operating profit to Rs 249.10 crore.  Employee cost increased from 0.98% to 1.08%.   Other expenses rose from 93.52% to 93.60%.   Other direct service cost fell from 93.02% to 92.55%.   

Other income rose 16.64% to Rs 327.64 crore.  PBIDT rose 3.62% to Rs 576.74 crore.  Provision for interest fell 5.14% to Rs 139.38 crore.  

PBDT rose 6.76% to Rs 437.36 crore.  Provision for depreciation fell 15.26% to Rs 4.83 crore.  

Profit before tax grew 7.08% to Rs 432.53 crore.  Share of profit/loss was 31.63% lower at Rs 30.02 crore.  Provision for tax was expense of Rs 103.98 crore, compared to Rs 65.44 crore.  Effective...
