Net down 63% on weak operating show

Net sales (including other operating income) of John Cockerill India for the quarter ended Mar 2024 has declined 23.64% to Rs 147.06 crore.  Operating profit margin has declined from 5.53% to 3.23%, leading to 55.40% decline in operating profit to Rs 4.75 crore.  Raw material cost as a % of total sales (net of stock adjustments) decreased from 75.73% to 67.85%.   Employee cost increased from 7.47% to 12.03%.   Other expenses rose from 11.24% to 16.89%.   Other income fell 57.11% to Rs 1.75 crore.  PBIDT fell 55.87% to Rs 6.5 crore.  PBDT fell 59.46% to Rs 6.04 crore.  Provision for depreciation down 25.28% to Rs 1.33 crore.  Profit before tax down 64.10% to Rs 4.71 crore.  Provision for tax was expense of Rs 1.09 crore, compared to Rs 3.33 crore.  Effective tax rate was 23.14% compared to 25.38%. Profit after tax fell 63.02% to Rs 3.62 crore.
