CSB Bank

Weak performance


'CSB Bank has reported 14% decline in net profit at Rs 113.32 crore for the quarter ended June 2024 (Q1FY2025). The bank has posted 1% fall in the net interest income (NII), while the core fee income of the bank improved 46% in Q1FY2025. The Net Interest Margin (NIM) of the bank dipped to 4.36% in Q1FY2025 compared to 5.40% in the corresponding quarter of previous year.

On business front, the bank as has posted 20% growth in business with 18% jump in loan book. The asset quality of the bank has witnessed pressure in Q1FY2025. Bank has reduced the credit to deposit ratio to 83.9% at end June 2024 from 87.1% at end June 2023. However, the CASA ratio of the bank has declined to 24.9% at end June 2024 from 30.8% at end June 2023.

Asset quality deteriorates: The bank has continued to witness pressure on asset quality in Q1FY2025.
