Net up 3% on flat sales


''Standalone net sales (including other operating income) of Container Corporation Of India for the quarter ended Dec 2024 has declined 0.15% to Rs 2,201.90 crore.  Operating profit margin has declined from 23.21% to 20.81%, leading to 10.44% decline in operating profit to Rs 458.26 crore.  Employee cost increased from 5.07% to 5.63%.   Other expenses rose from 71.72% to 73.56%.   Freight charges fell from 58.71% to 57.31%.   Other direct service cost rose from 10.83% to 12.91%.   Other income fell 1.18% to Rs 99.49 crore.  PBIDT fell 8.92% to Rs 557.75 crore.  Provision for interest fell 2.28% to Rs 17.13 crore.  PBDT fell 9.12% to Rs 540.62 crore.  Provision for depreciation down 47.48% to Rs 81.02 crore.  Profit before tax grew 4.32% to Rs 459.60 crore.  Provision for tax was expense of Rs 116.16 crore, compared to Rs 106.15 crore.  Effective tax rate was...
