Container Corporation Of India

Sales up 7%, PAT up 6%


''Standalone net sales (including other operating income) of Container Corporation Of India for the quarter ended Mar 2024 has increased 7.00% to Rs 2,317.63 crore.  Operating profit margin has jumped from 20.53% to 21.10%, leading to 9.96% rise in operating profit to Rs 489.01 crore.  Employee cost decreased from 5.73% to 5.30%.   Other expenses fell from 73.74% to 73.60%.   Freight charges rose from 56.02% to 57.99%.   Other direct service cost fell from 12.95% to 11.08%.   Other income fell 1.93% to Rs 93.67 crore.  PBIDT rose 7.86% to Rs 582.68 crore.  Provision for interest up 30.49% to Rs 19 crore.  PBDT rose 7.23% to Rs 563.68 crore.  Provision for depreciation rose 4.67% to Rs 160.26 crore.  Profit before tax grew 8.28% to Rs 403.42 crore.  Extraordinary items were decreased to Rs -7.14 crore.  Provision for tax was expense of Rs 101.74 crore, compar...
