Bharat Heavy Electricals

Sales up 5%, OP in red

Consolidated net sales (including other operating income) of Bharat Heavy Electricals for the quarter ended Dec 2023 has increased 4.57% to Rs 5503.81 crore.  Operating profit margin (OPM) has turned from positive 2.74% to negative 1.14%, Operating profit for the quarter stood loss of Rs 62.86 crore compared to profit of Rs 144.26 crore.  Raw material cost as a % of total sales (net of stock adjustments) increased from 23.93% to 27.08%.   Purchase of finished goods cost rose from 20.60% to 24.54%.   Employee cost decreased from 27.30% to 26.21%.   Other expenses fell from 25.41% to 23.31%.   Stores consumed for sales fell from 2.21% to 1.60%.   Contract job process charges fell from 23.03% to 19.97%.   Other income rose 5.81% to Rs 95.82 crore.  PBIDT fell 85.96% to Rs 32.96 crore.  Provision for interest rose 36.16% to Rs 189.6 crore.  PBDT stood at Rs 156.64 crore compared to pro...
