Punjab National Bank

Cuts guidance of GNPA to 4% and credit cost to 0.5% for FY2025


'Punjab National Bank conducted a conference call on 27 July 2024 to discuss its financial results for the quarter ended June 2024. Atul Kumar Goel, MD&CEO of the bank addressed the call:

Highlights:

The bank has posted all-round performance in the quarter ended June 2023, while crossing the business volume of Rs 24.39 lakh crore with growth of 10% end June 2024.

During the quarter ended June 2024, the bank has recorded record high net interest income, operating profit and net profit.

The deposits have increased 8.5% to Rs 14.08 lakh crore, while advances have increased 12% yoy and 4.6% qoq to Rs 10.3 lakh crore end June 2024.

The share of retail, agriculture and MSME loan book has increased to 55.5% end June 2024 from 55.2% a quarter ago and 54.7% a year ago.

The bank has exhibited a sharp decline in the credit cost to 0.33% in Q1FY2025 from 0.81% in the previous quarter and 1.99% in the corresponding q...
