In a rare show of political unity, leaders from across party lines assured full support to the government in its response to the Pahalgam terror attack. At an all-party meeting held in Parliament, chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, parties backed the actions taken by the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) and pledged solidarity in the fight against terrorism.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju noted that the government briefed leaders on the incident, intelligence lapses, and measures to prevent future attacks. Opposition figures, including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, condemned the attack and expressed unconditional support for any firm action.
AIMIM's Asaduddin Owaisi emphasized that the tragedy transcends politics. Representatives from 15 political parties attended the two-hour meeting, where a two-minute silence was observed to honor the 26 victims.
