Information Technology shares gain

Information Technology stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the BSE Information Technology index rising 135.22 points or 0.39% at 34938.67 at 09:47 IST.


Among the components of the BSE Information Technology index, Persistent Systems Ltd (up 1.5%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (up 1.42%),Mphasis Ltd (up 1.23%),Infosys Ltd (up 1.02%),Coforge Ltd (up 0.99%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Magellanic Cloud Ltd (up 0.97%), Cigniti Technologies Ltd (up 0.36%), HCL Technologies Ltd (up 0.24%), and LTIMindtree Ltd (up 0.11%).

On the other hand, Cyient Ltd (down 5.61%), NELCO Ltd (down 5.48%), and L&T Technology Services Ltd (down 4.98%) moved lower.

At 09:47 IST, the BSE SmallCap was down 962.88 or 1.95% at 48304.55.

The BSE 150 MidCap Index index was down 197.54 points or 1.3% at 14948.29.

The Nifty 50 index was down 38.55 points or 0.16% at 24208.15.

The BSE Sensex index was down 158.13 points or 0.2% at 79643.3.

On BSE,699 shares were trading in green, 2385 were trading in red and 136 were unchanged.
