Balaji Amines gets BIS certification for ‘Morpholine’

Balaji Amines announced that the specialty chemical maker has received BIS Certification for the product ‘Morpholine’ from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Ministry of Consumer Affairs.


In an exchange filing, the firm stated “the company has received BIS Certification for the product ‘Morpholine’ from the Bureau of Indian Standards as per IS 12084:2018 having CML number 7500262909 for unit-III situated at Chincholi, Mohol Taluka, Solapur, Maharashtra.”

The certification will result in regulating the quality of the product which is mandatory for anyone to supply Morpholine in India. Balaji Amines is the only manufacturer of this product in India so far.

The validity of the certification is one year, till 15 January 2025.

Balaji Amines is a leading manufacturer of aliphatic amines in India. Broadly, the company is specialized in manufacturing methyl amines, ethyl amines, derivatives of specialty chemicals and natural product and its business is broadly classified into three segments - amines, specialty chemicals and derivatives.

The company's consolidated net profit slipped 62.5% to Rs 34.71 crore on 39.4% decline in net sales to Rs 380.54 crore in Q2 FY24 over Q2 FY23.

The scrip fell 2.22% to currently trade at Rs 2,402.85 on the BSE.
