NMDC’s iron ore production jumps 51% YoY to 5.35 MT in Mar’26

NMDC reported a sharp 50.7% increase in iron ore production to 5.35 MT in March 2026, compared with 3.55 MT in March 2025.


Iron ore sales surged 40.1% YoY to 5.90 MT in March 2026 as against 4.21 MT in March 2025.

Iron ore production in the Chhattisgarh division jumped 61% YoY to 4.01 MT in March 2026, while sales climbed 56.3% to 4.25 MT, compared with 2.72 MT in March 2025.

On the other hand, the Karnataka division reported a 26.4% YoY increase in production to 1.34 MT in March 2026. Sales rose 10.7% YoY to 1.65 MT, compared with 1.49 MT in March 2025.

For the period up to March 2026, iron ore production stood at 53.15 MT, up 20.6% YoY, while sales rose 13.1% YoY to 50.23 MT.

NMDC is engaged in the exploration and production of iron ore along with diamond production and the sale of sponge iron and the generation and sale of wind power.

The company’s consolidated net profit declined 7.9% to Rs 1,747.01 crore on a 15.9% rise in revenue from operations to Rs 7,610.79 crore in Q3 FY26 over Q3 FY25.

The scrip shed 0.75% to close at Rs 77.56 on the BSE.
