Retail sales in Australia rose by 0.5% in June 2024, slowing from May's 0.6% gain. Food retailing growth slowed to 0.2% from 0.7%, and clothing, footwear, and personal accessory retailing to 0.7% from 1.4%. Cafes, restaurants, and takeaway food services saw no growth, while household goods retailing remained unchanged at 1.1%. Sales for other retailing rose faster at 1% compared to 0.3% in May. Regional sales increased in Northern Territory (0.8%), Australian Capital Territory (0.9%), and New South Wales (0%). Growth slowed in Victoria (0.4%), Western Australia (0.9%), and Queensland (0.5%).
