Malaysia's annual inflation rate held at 2.0% in July 2024, marking the highest level since August 2023. Food prices rose by 1.6%, while costs for alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and health also increased slightly. Housing costs remained steady at 3.2%. In contrast, clothing prices continued to decline, falling by 0.2%. Core consumer prices, excluding volatile items, rose by 1.9% year-on-year, consistent with the previous four months. Monthly CPI saw a slight 0.1% increase, the smallest in four months.
