Asian Paints

Weak performance


'Net sales (including other operating income) of Asian Paints has declined 0.35% to Rs 8938.55 crore on account of shift in mix and subdued demand environment due to macro-economic uncertainties and early monsoon. Decorative Business (India) registered volume growth of 3.9% with revenue decline of 1.2%. Home Décor categories saw a de-growth in Q1 FY26 with pressure on household disposable incomes. International business registered a value growth of 8.4% on the back of growth in Asian markets, UAE and Egypt.

Operating profit margin has declined from 18.88% to 18.18%, leading to 4.06% decline in operating profit to Rs 1,624.97 crore.  Raw material cost as a % of total sales (net of stock adjustments) decreased from 46.10% to 45.82%.   Purchase of finished goods cost fell from 10.78% to 10.51%.   Employee cost increased from 7.62% to 8.05%.   Other expenses rose from 16.35% to 17.03%. ...
