Sterlite Industries India has posted a net profit after tax and extraordinary items of Rs 240.71 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006 (Q4 FY 05-06) as compared to net loss of Rs 39.34 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2005 (Q4 FY 04-05). Total Income (net of excise) has increased to Rs 2551.98 crore for Q4 FY 05-06 from Rs 1194.46 crore in Q4 FY 04-05.

The audited results are as follows

The company has posted a net profit after tax and extraordinary items of Rs 511.12 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006 (FY 05-06) as compared to Rs 106.42 crore for the year ended March 31, 2005 (FY 04-05). Total Income (net of excise) has increased to Rs 7619.88 crore for FY 05-06 from Rs 4107.09 crore in FY 04-05.

The unaudited Consolidated results are as follows

Income attributable to Consolidated Group of Rs 812.95 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006 (Q4 FY 05-06) as compared to Rs 137.35 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2005 (Q4 FY 04-05). Total Income (net of excise) has increased to Rs 5227.87 crore for Q4 FY 05-06 from Rs 2260.74 crore in Q4 FY 04-05.

The audited Consolidated results are as follows

Income attributable to Consolidated Group of Rs 1628.74 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006 (FY 05-06) as compared to Rs 622.15 crore for the year ended March 31, 2005 (FY 04-05). Total Income (net of excise) has increased to Rs 13463.47 crore for FY 05-06 from Rs 7549.69 crore in FY 04-05.

The board has recommended dividend at the rate of 62.50% (Rs 1.25 per share of Rs 2/- each) for the financial year 2005-06. The total dividend outflow (including Dividend Tax) is Rs 79.63 crore as against Rs 37.55 crore in the previous year.
