Volumes jump at Sun TV Network counter Parsvnath Developers, Subex, Union Bank of India, and Thermax are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 27 July 2012.
Sun TV Network clocked volume of 14.37 lakh shares by 13:22 IST on BSE, a 29.96-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 48,000 shares. The stock tumbled 11.88% to Rs 259.55. Parsvnath Developers notched up volume of 68.63 lakh shares, a 19.28-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 3.56 lakh shares. The stock tumbled 16.32% to Rs 38.70. Subex clocked volume of 45.05 lakh shares, a 14.25-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 3.16 lakh shares. The stock was locked at 20% lower circuit at Rs 15.85. Union Bank of India clocked volume of 9.05 lakh shares, a 10.44-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 87,000 shares. The stock lost 6.57% to Rs 166.35 as the state-run bank's ratio of net non-performing assets rose to 2.2% of net advances as on 30 June 2012 from 1.7% as on 31 March 2012. Union Bank of India's net profit rose 10.15% to Rs 511.59 crore on 21.5% growth in total income to Rs 6561.10 crore in Q1 June 2012 over Q1 June 2011. The state-run bank announced the results during trading hours today, 27 July 2012. Thermax notched up volume of 1.26 lakh shares, a 9.62-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 13,000 shares. The stock tumbled 4.78% to Rs 479.05, with the stock extending Thursday's 1.47% fall triggered by the company reporting poor Q1 June 2012 earnings.
