The stock hit a high of Rs 722.80 and a low of Rs 708.10 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 940 on 15 July 2011. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 464 on 20 December 2011.

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 10 July 2012, surging 11.21% compared with the Sensex's 5.38% rise. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, rising 2.26% as against Sensex's 2.17% rise.

The large-cap steel maker has equity capital of Rs 223.12 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

JSW Steel's production of flat steel products jumped 36% to 1.61 million tonnes in Q1 June 2012 over Q1 June 2011. The production of long steel products rose 27% to 0.44 million tonnes in Q1 June 2012 over Q1 June 2011.

JSW Steel said its Vijayanagar, Karnataka works could operate at about 80% capacity utilization during Q1 June 2012 due to constraints in availability and quality of iron ore in E-Auction in Karnataka.
