Manappuram Finance leads gainers in 'A' group Engineers India, Wockhardt, Jaypee Infratech and Indraprastha Gas are among the other gainers.
Non-banking financial services company Manappuram Finance jumped 5.83% to Rs 32.70. The stock topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group. State-run Engineers India rose 4.51% to Rs 238.60 after the company said after market hours on Friday, 6 July 2012, that it has secured a consultancy services contract worth Rs 720 crore from BPCL for its integrated refinery expansion project in Kochi. The stock was second biggest gainer in 'A' group. Pharmaceutical company Wockhardt rose 4.42% to Rs 924.05 on bargain hunting after the stock fell 5.58% in the preceding six sessions to Rs 884.90 on 6 July 2012, from a recent high of Rs 937.20 on 28 June 2012. The stock was third biggest gainer in 'A' group. Infrastructure company Jaypee Infratech rose 1.91% to Rs 55.90. The stock was fourth biggest gainer in 'A' group. Piped gas distributor Indraprastha Gas rose 1.82% to Rs 246.20 on reports the company raised prices of compressed natural gas (CNG) by Rs 2.90 per kilogram (kg) in Delhi and Rs 3.30 per kg in neighbouring areas because of rising input cost, rupee depreciation and recent hike in electricity rates. The stock was fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group.
