Jagran Prakashan slides ex-dividend Jagran Prakashan dropped 2.4% to Rs 122 after the stock turned ex-dividend today, 15 June 2011, for dividend of Rs 3.50 per share for the year ended March 2011.
The stock hit a high of Rs 123.90 and a low of Rs 121.50 so far during the day. On BSE, 9,695 shares changed hands in the counter compared with average daily volume of 33,479 shares in the past one quarter. The stock had outperformed the market in the past one month to 14 June 2011, gaining 5.22% compared with the Sensex's 1.2% fall. The stock had also outperformed the market in the past one quarter, surging 7.8% compared with the Sensex's 0.71% fall. Before turning ex-dividend, the stock offered a dividend yield of 2.79% based on the closing price of Rs 125.05 on Tuesday, 14 June 2011 Jagran Prakashan publishes India's largest read newspaper Dainik Jagran. The company recently launched its Urdu newspaper Inquilab in Lucknow. The company plans to launch Inquilab in other markets of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Bihar soon. Jagran Prakashan's net profit rose 16% to Rs 42.08 crore on 20% growth in net sales to Rs 282.62 crore in Q4 March 2011 over Q4 March 2010. The company plans to incur a capital expenditure of Rs 120 crore in the year ending March 2012 (FY 2012). The management expects 17% to 18% growth in advertisement revenue in FY 2012. The company expects 20% growth in outdoor business and 60% growth in event business in FY 2012.
