STOCK ALERT Biocon in spotlight after Q1 earnings
On a consolidated basis, Biocon's net profit rose 12.49% to Rs 78.80 crore on 27.85% increase in total income to Rs 592.60 crore in Q1 June 2012 over Q1 June 2011. The result was announced after market hours on Wednesday, 25 July 2012. ITC, Bhel, Sterlite Industries (India) and ACC will announce their April-June 2012 results today, 26 July 2012. Tata Communications, Thermax, JSW Steel, Bata India and Gujarat Gas Company, among others, will also declare their April-June 2012 quarter results today, 26 July 2012. Cadila Healthcare turns ex-dividend today, 26 July 2012, for dividend of Rs 7.50 per share for the year ended 31 March 2012 (FY 2012). Cummins India turns ex-dividend today, 26 July 2012, for final dividend of Rs 6 per share for FY 2012. Divi's Laboratories turns ex-dividend today, 26 July 2012, for dividend of Rs 13 per share for FY 2012. Asian Paints said it has decided to explore opportunities in areas of home improvement and decor. The company said it would keep the stock exchanges informed as and when it develops a suitable proposition in this regard. Neyveli Lignite Corporation will be watched on reports the Department of Disinvestment (DoD) has finalised to sell 5% stake in the state-run company. The company is reportedly expecting to raise about Rs 500-600 crore by the stake sale. The government currently holds 93.56% in Neyveli Lignite Corporation. On a consolidated basis, Raymond reported a net loss of Rs 34.98 crore in Q1 June 2012 compared with a net profit of Rs 10.76 crore in Q1 June 2011. Net sales rose 10% to Rs 836.94 crore in Q1 June 2012 over Q1 June 2011.
